Crystal Rosete – Bio

Crystal Rosete (She/Her/Hers/Crystal) is a multi-racial, Aztecan social work activist who challenges gendered assumptions within her gender expression. She is in the Advanced Standing program following the Community Organizing, Planning, & Development Track at Silberman School of Social work. They got a BSW at Hunter College with a minor in religion and uses an empowerment, strength-based, biopsychosocial-spiritual perspectives in her work. She worked as a College and Career Bridge for All, Bridge Coach, assisting students in transitioning into post-secondary plans. She also works as a Community Habilitation Specialist at an organization known as Life Spire which helps those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities towards an independent living. Due to her intersecting identity Crystal has an interest in Disability Justice, Education Justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, Black & Brown rights among others. She is invested in research on how different factors (such as homelessness, poverty, food insecurity, and more) intersect with these identities and causes. She wants to continue to advocate for the rights of her communities she identifies with via micro, mezzo, macro advocacy and creating her own organization. She is especially interested in the use of radicalized education as an intervention method. She prioritizes Love at the forefront of her work.
